After a very long road, we are happy to announce that Sleep the Film will premiere at the 2013 Fort Lauderdale International Film Festival on November 7th from 5:30 pm - 7:30 pm!
Sleep The Film
September 27, 1977 - Everglades City, Florida. Joseph “Joey” Peacock, a 28 year-old resident slacker and Sam Johnson, an aspiring 19 year-old college student are drawn to a remote island deep in the Everglades. Guided by a raggedy map drawn 20 years earlier by Sam’s deceased father, the two set out with their own hidden agendas. Only one returned.

Film Festival Fever!
With the post production of sleep wrapping up last week, we're now hot and heavy in film fests. In the past few days we've entered Sleep into The Miami international film Festival, the Palm Beach International film Festival, the Cape Fear film Festival, the Beverly Hills short film Festival, and SXSW. Thanks again for all your support!

Zombie Joey
Although we had not planned it this way, our very own Jake Brown was in town from LA for a weekend wedding so we took advantage and shot a filler scene.

"Sheriff Cousins" Featured in City Link
As we continue to chip away on the final editing and polishing of the film, we're excited to announce that Joel DaSilva, aka Sheriff Cousins, is featured this week on the cover of South Florida's City Link entertainment guide. Joel, who is also working on the soundtrack for Sleep, was nice enough to give us a plug during his interview. With any luck we'll be getting the same love from City Link when the film is ready for release (more news on the release coming soon)!!

Scene 7 Rolling To The Finish Line
With a VERY rough cut only weeks away, the incredible shots keep pouring from the dual-camera setup. This frame features Brian Rossy as the Deputy Sheriff.

Scene 7, The FINAL Scene, Moving Right Along
Well, I'm happy to finally be working on the final scene of the movie. There is still plenty more to do in the way of edits, but having somewhat of a sloppy draft helps with the vision.

Scene 6 In The Books (Almost)
Scene 6 is coming along quite nice. For a scene with absolutely no dialogue, it has been fun making it the most visually stunning scene I've ever been a part of. The following frame grab is straight from camera:

After a few months of off and on editing, "Sleep" is finally streaking towards the finish line. This is a frame grab from the Scene 6, the second-to-last scene. Editing this scene has become a challenge as there is absolutely no dialogue. Then again, there isn't much dialogue in the entire film; it's very, very visual!!!

Last Month's Official Wrap Party
A wrap party in a parking lot may be a good endcap to a long day of shooting, but it's hardly relaxing. So, last month, Joel DaSilva and the Midnight Howl came into the studio and played. The rest of us ate and made with the merriment. (The band ate, too.)
